It's a new year, it's a new studio, it's a new group of members, and I'm feeling good!!!!

Currently listening to: 'Readers and Writers' (Idlewild)

Hello followers of XpressionFM, and welcome to the first Blog of the 09/10 academic term! It is sadly my duty to inform you that creator and mother of the Blog Sophie Saint has graduated and left for pastures new (i.e. the real world), and it is me, David Williams who has stepped in to attempt to fill her shoes.

Anyway, enough with the grieving, I'll let you know what's been going on with XpressionFM. Firstly, and one could say, most importantly, we've gone and got ourselves a new studio! As the steps (under which we used to live) are being turned into a lift shaft or something (in all honesty I don't really know), we have moved into the GI Hub at the back of Coffee Express. Although it's been a bit of a rush to say the least to get us on air in time for the start of term, our fantastic technician Frog has accomplished it, and below are some pictures of the new space.

Oh Yeah, and we also have a toilet.

There is also what looks like dried blood upon the sink next to the toilet, but we can hardly complain! *NOTE* No-one is allowed to use the toilet, although the punishment is as far as I'm aware undefined. Maybe I should use it, just to find out (I'll let you know how that goes!)

SECONDLY, EVEN MORE INCREDIBLY EXCITING NEWS!!! XPRESSIONFM HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR SOME NATIONAL AWARDS!!

That's right, you heard me, national awards!! Three to be exact. To be more specific the nominations are for:
  1. Best Branding
  2. Best Scripted programming (For the radio play "The Garden", written by Becca Attfield, who also happens to be the lady in the photos!)
  3. Best Entertainment programme (The Stephen and David Sunday Lunchtime Show)
The awards ceremony is held in London, in the O2Indigo on 26th November. Keep watching this blog to find out how we do, (fingers crossed).

(I will be thinking of a suitable punishment should use the toilet - unless its for toilet reviewing purposes)
